Fun-loving, hard-working and gorgeous inside and out, FRDM member Sally sits down to unpack her style with us.
To start off, can you tell us a little bit about what you do?
Absolutely! I’m the Marketing Manager at frank green, a brand on a mission to stop the manufacture of single use products by creating reusable cups and bottles. I am super grateful that I get to work for a brand that is all about sustainability and beautiful products. We design reusable cups & bottles with a mission to stop the manufacture of single use products. I manage our product development & brand marketing, a mix of lots of challenges but it’s lots of fun. On the side I’m also working on my own business, trunks for trunks, designing ethical & sustainable underwear giving all the profit to elephant sanctuaries in Indonesia.
Over the last few months have you been working from home or in the office?
Predominantly I’ve been working from home since the start of lock down, which was actually my very first week starting at frank green! Definitely a very strange way to start a new job! I do pop into the office every now and then (socially distancing, of course) for bits and pieces like packaging & product samples.
And how would you describe your current style?
Well, my current style at home is activewear or my trackies (should I be saying this to a fashion brand?!) I like to start in activewear so I’m motivated to do a work out but eventually ends in a full comfy vibe (hello trackies). At the start of lockdown I was very professional for virtual meetings but my standard has absolutely dropped with more time at home!
On the flip side when I do head into the office I absolutely love embracing a corporate chic look. Normally for work my style is smart casual, but with only a few opportunities to head out these days the heels and big earrings are getting a good run!
What’s the one item on your winter wishlist this season?
This winter I am in desperate need of a jacket I can wear to work but also out for a nice dinner or drinks that isn’t denim and isn’t leather... any ideas?!
If you had to pick one, what’s your must-have FRDM piece? Why?
This is a hard question! I absolutely love the Gemma Black Blazer, it’s the perfect boardroom outfit to fill you with confidence and honestly makes me feel like such a lady boss. However I also have a soft spot for the Stella Skirt as it’s so easy to dress up for a night out or dress down for a casual work day! Can I pick 2?!
And just quickly before you go, what’s the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever received?
I would have to say “less is more”.
This is a motto I use for fashion and cheese boards, actually I use it for everything! Channelling Coco Chanel, take one thing off your outfit before you leave the house. I don’t know if I’m sold on that, but certainly consider it when piecing together outfits.
